WANT TO PLAY AMERICAN FOOTBALL?

The Cambridgeshire Cats senior squad are returning to training on Sunday 11th January from 12 until 3pm at our home field at Coldhams Common in Cambridge and continuing weekly to prepare for the new season which is expected to commence in late April/early May.

To start with, we will concentrate on general fitness plus basic techniques, tehory and tactics which make these sessions ideal for everyone. No special kit or equipment is required, just football/rugby boots and something suitable for working out in the British weather (something warm and possibly water resistant is advisable) and something that you don't mind getting a bit dirty or maybe potentially damaged as its a physical sport.

After a few sessions, we will then start to pad up and putting the techniques into practice with a series of planned drills and excercises. Whilst we continue to work on our basic skills, we will be learning & practicing our offensive and defensive plays and honing the techniques that will enable us to perfect them so that we can use them in our first practice scrimmage against another BAFL team at our weekend residential training camp which will be held in late March/early April to set the final preparations for the season which kicks off in late April/May.

Potential New players are still welcome to join us at these sessions whether you're new to the sport or have played before. If you'd like to join in, you're encouraged to get in touch (via our forum or contact us section) and come down to join in, meet our team members including a number of rookies who are joining us from our successful recruitment days, as well as talk to our experienced coaching team and team representatives to see if this great sport is something you'll enjoy.

As a new player, you will welcomed into our family. Our experienced coaches will assess your strengths & weaknesses to guide you in developing your technique to be the best that you can be. From there, we will help you decide which position is most suited to you. Whatever size, speed or agility, there is a position here for you.
