The Cambridgeshire Cats

About Us

Cambridgeshire Cats are an adult American Football team competing in the BAFANL National League Southern Conference Division 1 North.

Founded in 1984 and one of the UK's oldest American Football teams, the Cambridgeshire Cats are a well established team within British American football having reached the play-offs many times throughout its long history. Based at Coldham's Common in Cambridge and easily recognisable on the field playing in all red at home and red and white during away games, the team consists of a wide variety of players of nationalities and backgrounds and due to being in close proximity of a number of US military bases, the Cats attract a number of experienced American players.

Following the recent league restructure, the Cambridgeshire Cats are now playing in the BAFANL Southern Division 1 Conference alongside the Ouse Valley Eagles, Birmingham Bulls, Hertfordshire Cheetahs, Farnham Knights, Solent Thrashers, Colchester Gladiators and the East Kent Mavericks. The new league promises a number of exciting games with a number of the teams being very evenly matched.

Following a bumpy 2014 season performance, 2015 sees a whole new-look Cats team along with a number of new coaches, headed by Head Coach, Marco Fasulo, new Offensive Co-ordinator Matt Kelly and Defensive Co-ordinator Clifton Flint. Marco Fasulo has stepped up to lead the senior team after a period as HC of the Cambridgeshire Cats junior team for two years and brings with him a wealth of experience at all levels of the game.

If you wish to see the Cats in action, our fixtures for the 2015 season can be found on the Fixtures page of this website and if you would like to get involved with the Cats, you can find more about joining the team on the 'Join Us' page.

We hope to see you on the sidelines!
